What is Enterprise Conception Bay South?

Enterprise Conception Bay South encompasses the many projects and initiatives which fall under the umbrella of the Town’s Economic Development & Tourism Department. The Enterprise Conception Bay South logo is an extension of the Town’s brand. The leaves from the tree in the Town’s logo have been chosen to represent the successful growth opportunities in the Town. The overlap of leaves into a unique color, symbolize the successful relationship between the residential and business community.

Does the Town offer a Business Tax Incentive Program?

A Business Tax Incentive may be considered for new and expanding businesses within the Town, providing that they are non-competitive with existing commercial enterprises and are not home-based or mobile in nature.

Interest in the incentive must be expressed in writing to the Department of Community Development prior to the occupancy permit being issued, and supporting documentation in the form of a business plan and financial projections must also be submitted. Please contact 709-834-6500 ext. 701 or email ecdev@conceptionbaysouth.ca for more information.

How do I connect with the local Chamber of Commerce?

 

The Conception Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Chamber of Commerce, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the business community. The Chamber circulates a regular newsletter and bulletins, hosts regular luncheons, breakfasts and networking events, offers group insurance discounts, and a range of other services.

The Town of Conception Bay South provides active members of the Chamber with a $100 discount on their business taxes. Introduced in the 1999 budget year, the incentive was well received and Council continues to offer the incentive.
